The Kraken Comes

This isn’t so much a positive from the Saints game, but rather a positive the Cowboys can look at and feel pretty good about. The possibility that Greg Hardy, Rolando McClain, Sean Lee, and Randy Gregory might all be healthy for the New England game is music to this team’s ears. This totally changes the dynamic of this defense. Those guys coming back, along with the improved play of DeMarcus Lawrence and Anthony Hitchens, means that this defense still has the chance to carry this team in the upcoming weeks. Getting everyone prepared for the next few weeks will be vital if the Cowboys want to have a chance at making the playoffs.

As the defense begins to get healthy, there will be a lot of pressure on them to carry the Cowboys for a few games. Even if the defense is fully healthy they won’t be able to continually stop offenses if they keep being asked to play long minutes in the second half. The offense needs to do just enough to give the defense a rest so they can be the unit that plays a larger role in winning football games. With a pass rush and hopefully a defensive back or two being able to hold onto the ball there could be more turnovers.
