Cowboys at Packers: Game Info, Streaming, and Predictions

The Dallas Cowboys travel to the frozen tundra of Green Bay to take on the NFC North leading Packers. Here are game info, streaming, and predictions for the game…

Prediction #1: Christian Blood, Sport DFW Editor

The Dallas Cowboys will attempt to do something they’ve only done once during their entire history on Sunday. This 3-8 football team will try to win for just the second time ever at Lambeau Field against the Green Bay Packers.

Since last year’s season-ending loss at the same venue in the NFC playoffs has nothing to do with this game, I’ll spare the recap of the Dez Bryant catch that was overturned and the fact that Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers played the game on one leg.

This weekend is all that matters, and I’m taking the Cowboys for a couple of reasons.

First, there’s rain in the forecast on Sunday in Green Bay and temperatures are expected to be unseasonably warm. It doesn’t appear that the Packers are going to win merely because their opponent is just plain frozen.

Finally, a healthy Dez Bryant is better than anything Rodgers has to throw to in this game – so is Terrance Williams. If Matt Cassel can get any kind of deep passing game going, Dallas should get some points.

I’ll also add that the Cowboys are playing better and better on defense, and this is where the main difference in this game could take place.

Final Score: Cowboys 20 Packers 13

Cowboys Prediction #2: Dink Kearney, Sport DFW Staff Writer

The Dallas Cowboys take on the Green Bay Packers in a must win game for the Cowboys. The Cowboys are -8 underdogs and have lost to the Packers five straight times.

More from Dallas Cowboys

The Packers QB, Aaron Rodgers, has thrown 8 TDs and no interceptions against the Cowboys, and history says he’ll do that again since the Packers offense commits the least amount of turnovers (9) while the Cowboys are last in the NFL in collecting turnovers! However, expect the Cowboys defense to blitz Rodgers like they did against Washington Redskins QB Kirk Cousins and finally create a turnover.

The Cowboys offense will need to keep a balanced offense of run and pass to keep the Packers defense honest against the run. I expect the Cowboys offense to execute better than they did against the Redskins, not fumble three times and shock the Packers to keep their slim playoff hopes alive. The Cowboys will win a close, hard-fought game.

Final Score: Cowboys 24 Packers 21

Cowboys Prediction #3: Reid Hanson, Sport DFW Editor

The Cowboys face the difficult task of facing the Packers in Green Bay, in December. This would be something challenging for even a Tony Romo-led Cowboys squad, let alone a Matt Cassel-led Cowboys squad.

Green Bay has been struggling in a few areas in recent weeks. Pass protection has been struggling, the WR corps is depleted, and the running game is unpredictable. Green Bay isn’t quite what she used to be…but then again, neither are the Cowboys.

The Cowboys just tallied their first victory, sans Romo, in roughly five years. And they did it in fairly ugly fashion at that.

The Cowboys need to pressure Rodgers regularly and do so without neglecting coverage. Since virtually all of Dallas’ pass-rush success has come when blitzing and stunting, that will be a tough task to complete.

I believe the Cowboys will make a Dez Bryant and Cole Beasley a big part of the offense this week but their mistakes on defense will be far too much to overcome.

Aaron Rodgers will take advantage of failed blitzes and burn the Cowboys repeatedly making for a long day.

Final Score: Cowboys 17 Packers 33
