Cowboys: Undrafted Free Agents – Who Are These Guys?
Rodney Coe, Defensive Tackle, Akron
Coe played for three schools in three years. While he has admitted he lacked focus, his character and work ethic has been called into question. He is a converted running back who is now a defensive tackle. What this means is he uses his legs really well, and has great agility for a guy his size.
Coe needs a lot of work as a consistent pass rusher. He doesn’t really have a move and doesn’t have a consistent effort in pass rush. He is a classic one technique, but has such a great burst and agility, if he can get his ethic down, he could be very disruptive in the pass rush if he wanted to be.
Coe will most likely need to prove he is willing to put in the work. He can be a part of the defensive line rotation early if he can do this, if not he might find himself at best on the practice squad. He has the talent, he just needs to want to refine it. The Cowboys could use him on the defensive line.
