2. Dec. 22, 2015 – Stars 4, Blackhawks 0

Because of the summer moves, this game meant a little more than the normal regular season game. The Stars had acquired Patrick Sharp and signed Johnny Oduya, both former Chicago Blackhawks.

As with most Hawks away games, there was a decent gathering of fans in red and black, adding to the intensity of the matchup. Early on in the game, it was a goalie battle, as Corey Crawford and Antti Niemi were making big saves left and right. It took about half of the game before Jason Spezza finally found the back of the net for the Stars. Then, with a 1-0 lead in the 3rd, the Stars unloaded.

11 seconds in, Patrick Sharp shot one right above Crawford’s shoulder and the American Airlines Center exploded. You could see the emotion on his face afterwards and it was obvious that this goal had a little more meaning to it.

Afterwards, Colton Sceviour and Mattias Janmark added in tallies. Antti Niemi went on to finish a 20-save shutout of the Blackhawks, a team that the Stars would go on to beat four out of five times over the course of the season.
