Pittsburgh (2-0) at Oklahoma State (1-1)

A very nice afternoon tilt features the Pittsburgh Panthers (2-0) traveling to Stillwater, Oklahoma to play the Oklahoma State Cowboys (1-1). Let’s be real here, though. The college football Cowboys should be 2-0 after last week’s horribly blown call by the officials. But that game is in the past now, and that’s where we should probably leave it.

Before the incident that is now in the past though, the Cowboys began their season by throttling the Southeastern Louisiana Lions, not to be confused with the Southeastern Louisiana State Muddogs. The Panthers enter Saturday’s game unbeaten after a home win over the Villanova Wildcats to start the year and a really good win over the Penn State Nittany Lions last weekend.

Why we should watch?

Junior running back James Conner is coming off a 117 yard performance against the Nittany Lions a week ago. He will look to keep that momentum going against a Cowboy defense that surrendered just 50  rushing yards to Central Michigan. The passing game was a different story, however as the Chippewas tossed for 368 yards against the Cowboy secondary. Senior quarterback Nathan Peterman will have the opportunity to match that for Pitt.

Prediction (Purely for entertainment purposes, no wagering please)

There will be a lot of passing yards posted in this one; mark it down. The win will go to whichever team can amass 300 passing yards first. It’s conceivable that both QBs will finish with a handful of touchdown passes and a bucket of yards.

This one will be back and forth until the final seconds and a late turnover will seal it for the Cowboys at home for a 42-38 Oklahoma State win.
