College football preview (week three): Top 5 regional games to watch
#3 Ohio State (2-0) at #14 Oklahoma (1-1)
The #3 Ohio State Buckeyes (2-0) will head into Norman to face the #14 Oklahoma Sooners (1-1). The Buckeyes head into the game with two blowout wins under their belt in what were essentially warm-up games. Meanwhile, the Sooners are still trying to get rid of the mark that the Houston Cougars put on them to begin the season. Ohio State face their first stiff opponent of the year while the Oklahoma will set out to prove a point.
Why should we watch?
Really the proper question is, “why shouldn’t we watch?” This game has a classic battle written all over it. Junior quarterback Baker Mayfield is off to a very hot start with 567 passing yards and five touchdowns for the Sooners. Sophomore deep threat Mark Andrews will try to get past the Buckeye secondary to catch a deep pass or two, and Mayfield will have senior wide receiver Dede Westbrook to keep the shorter passing lanes open. And just in case Ohio State gets too stingy in the passing game, sophomore Joe Mixon, freshman Abdul Adams and junior Samaje Perine will rotate in and out of the backfield for Oklahoma.

Stormin in Norman
For Ohio State, junior Curtis Samuel is the prototypical Buckeye all-purpose back. He’s second on the team in rushing yards and leads Ohio State in receptions and receiving yards. He will be lined up all over the field to create mismatches and confusion for the stout Sooner defense.

Prediction (Purely for entertainment purposes, no wagering please)
Hold onto your seats, college football fans because Ohio State-Oklahoma will be entertaining. Expect Mayfield to complete some pivotal third down passes for the Sooners and he will connect for touchdowns twice with Andrews for scores and Mixon and Adams will each run in scores for Oklahoma as well. Samuel will cause some problems for Oklahoma’s defense and reach the end zone once on the ground and twice in the air. Freshman running back Mike Weber will also take one across the goal linen for the Buckeyes while gaining 95 yards on the ground.
