Dallas Cowboys: Where’s the Weakness
With a deeply flawed win against the Washington Redskins, there are questions about what the Dallas Cowboys weakness is.
All season long, Dallas hater number one, Stephen A. Smith has repeatedly stated the Dallas Cowboys can’t possibly win the Super Bowl. He has said the team is fatally flawed and someone will expose the Cowboys. This week he has said the Redskins exposed the Cowboys, yet the Cowboys keep winning.
Sure, the Redskins threw the ball all over the field on the Cowboys. The pass rush is non-existent (although I have a feeling against the banged up Vikings they will look good), they have committed a lot of holding penalties, and the secondary is missing tackles left and right.
Except for one thing — the Dallas Cowboys keep winning.
All over social media people have been saying the Cowboys don’t match up well with the Seahawks, the Falcons, and even saying in a third game the Redskins will be better. The flaw, they say, is that the Dallas defense can’t win a championship. Stop the run, score often, and pressure Dak Prescott and you will stop the Cowboys.
Then the Redskins went into Dallas and did exactly what people have said is the blueprint to beat the Cowboys, and Dallas still won the game. The Cowboys keep proving people wrong and keep winning games it doesn’t look like they will win. The weakness of the Cowboys is offset by arguably the best offense in football.
Sure, there are weaknesses on the Cowboys. Their pass rush would be negative in sacks if it were possible. The passing game lacks a true number two receiver on the outside. The secondary has injuries and gives up chunks of yards while missing tackles. Jason Garrett has made some questionable clock management issues.

But there is something special about the Dallas Cowboys. You can see it, but can’t describe it. You can feel it, but can’t quite put your finger on it. There is something special in Dallas, even if no one can exactly say what it is. The simple answer would be Ezekiel Elliot, the offensive line, Dak Prescott, maybe, just maybe they have received favorable bounces. Whatever it is, it is special.
What that special thing is, starts with the team. The Dallas Cowboys have a real team.
Sure, winning cures a lot of things, but this team stands together like we haven’t seen for a long time. The team plays for each other, plain and simple. They believe there is something special here. I’m not sure they can explain it either.
The Cowboys are a flawed team, and I don’t think anyone would deny this. But, while there are weaknesses, the Cowboys have the strongest team. Having a team that believes is why the Giants beat the perfect Patriots. Having a team is why the 1985 Chicago Bears weren’t just great, they were legendary. It is what the 90s Cowboys were a real dynasty. One thing all of those teams have in common, they believed they could do anything.

Sure, there are weaknesses, but there are a lot more strengths in a lot more areas. If you want to beat the Dallas Cowboys you have to believe more than they do, and right now, no one believes more than them. There is no game they don’t feel they can and will win. There is no play they don’t think they can make. Weaknesses? Yes. A blueprint to beat the Cowboys? Ask the Redskins.
