With November almost in the books, it is not too early to look ahead towards the month of December and see where the Dallas Mavericks may fall.

The Dallas Mavericks currently sit at 3-13 for the season, a lonely losing record the team has not been accustomed too as of late. As of now, the team is 3-10 for the month of November. This all could change come Wednesday as the Mavs have one final game left in month.

The Mavericks will play one last game for the month against the San Antonio Spurs on November 30th. The last time Dallas played San Antonio, they lost a crucial game 96-91. A win Wednesday could solidify a somewhat good ending to the month as the team looks to get any sort of wins they can.

Looking ahead to the month of December, this could be a make or break set of games for Dallas as they will look to get back on track. A record number of loses next month and the team can just wave goodbye to any playoff hopes they almost have.

Let’s see how Dallas could fair next month and whether the team will move up or continue to faulty down in the standings:

Starting this week the team has a set of matches with the Charlotte Hornets and the Chicago Bulls. The Hornets game is the second game of a back to  back and Dallas has not done well recently with consecutive games. The team will rebound nicely through against the Bulls on Saturday (1-1)

The following week Dallas plays host to the Hornets, Sacramento Kings, Indiana Pacers and then travels to Houston to take on the Rockets. The Mavs will get their revenge against the Hornets this week but then will fall to the Kings as Demarcus Cousin will prove to be no match for Dallas. In the first game of the season the Mavericks fell to the Pacers in overtime but things will turn around this time for Harrison Barnes and company. Closing out the week in Houston will prove to be a tough stretch for Dallas. (2-2)

The week of December 12th to the 16th the Mavs will go up against the Denver Nuggets, Detroit Pistons and Utah Jazz. With two of the games being at home, the team should pull out a victory against the Nuggets and Pistons. Dallas should fall to the Jazz in Utah. (2-1)

Dallas has a tough schedule the week of December 18th to the 23rd. The list of teams include the Kings, Nuggets, Portland Trail Blazers and Los Angeles Clippers.  With the Kings game being the only game at home this will be brutal for the Mavs. The Mavericks should trump the Kings, but that looks like the only win of the week as the Nuggets and Blazers will be too much to work with. Plus the Clippers will prove to be a lot for the Mavericks to handle; who can forget the last time these two teams played. (1-3)

Closing out the week, the Dallas Mavericks will play the Pelicans, Rockets, Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors. Three of the four games are on the road with the Houston game being at home. The Mavs should have nor problem beating the Pelicans as they beat them just this past week and should also have no trouble with the Lakers as well. Both the Rockets and Warriors have Dallas’ number and those are the two games the Mavs should fall too. (2-2)

Next: Time for Dirk to Leave Dallas?

Overall the Dallas Mavericks will finish December with a record of eight wins and nine loses. Still not the best way to finish the month but it is still an upgrade from November. The Mavs still have a lot of room to make up but December should have a much better improvement before the year ends. If Dirk Nowitzki returns healthy and Deron Williams can stay healthy the team could the expectations given.
