The Dallas Cowboys fell, once again, to the New York Giants, marking only their second loss of the season and keeping the playoff seeding in question.

It had to end sometime. The Dallas Cowboys marched into New Jersey with their 11-game winning streak and fell to the division rival New York Giants 10-7. In a game with a lot of defense and not much offense, the Cowboys attack was out of sync and utterly impotent for the entire evening.

The Giants tried repeatedly to give the game away but the Dallas offense and defense both refused to comply. The stats will show the defense played well but it can’t be ignored the defense dropped three interceptions. The offense found itself in unmanageable down and distance situations and could not convert 3rd downs.

It was an evening of missed opportunities and sloppy QB play from the Dallas Cowboys.

The only player to have a worse day than Dak Prescott was Dez Bryant, who was held without a catch until late in the 4th quarter when he promptly fumbled the ball away. In fact, a case can be made that Dez was responsible for all three turnovers since he fell on one interception, gave up his route on the other, and fumbled at the end. Bad day for Dez

The Cowboys offense that seemed unstoppable only a month ago, has struggled to consistently perform against the best defenses in the NFL. The road doesn’t get any easier as Dallas faces a red-hot Tampa Bay team next week.

Let’s get some Sport DFW quick takes:

The Cowboys finally lost a game and Dak Prescott finally played like a rookie. Dak threw two interceptions and nearly threw a third one in this NFC East match-up. The first one was more on Dez Bryant because he slipped and defensive back Janoris Jenkins caught the ball. However, this loss falls squarely on the shoulders of the offense and offensive coordinator Scott Linehan.

Dak overthrew and underthrew receivers. Dez Bryant fumbled the ball late in the game and dropped a pass on 4th down that would have extended the Cowboys drive late in the 4th quarter. As a result, the Giants got the ball back and ran out the clock.

More from Dallas Cowboys

For some reason, OC Scott Linehan got away from the running game, rarely running the ball on consecutive downs and had no answers for the Giants blitz. Dak looked as if he couldn’t adjust to blitzes and overthrew receivers. For the first time all season, Dak was rattled.

The Cowboys defense did its part by sacking Eli Manning three times and getting 3 turnovers. They gave up the big play to wide out Odell Beckham Jr., but other than that, this defense played outstanding.

I hope Head coach Jason Garrett can rally the troops and rebound from this pathetic and lackluster loss Because this is a blueprint out on how to beat the Cowboys!

I don’t even know what to think. Since the Redskins game the Cowboys offense has been stagnant. The defense showed up big time for this game, but there is something wrong with the offense. Dak has been off and the play calling suspect.

It was bound to happen, a loss that is. But the Cowboys have to figure out what is wrong with the offense. Maybe teams have figured out Dak and the offense, but if you want to make a deep playoff run, you have to learn to adjust.

This was an ugly game and you have to score points off turnovers. The Giants didn’t beat the Cowboys, the Cowboys beat themselves, badly.
