Round 4 – Josh Reynolds, WR, Texas A&M

Josh Reynolds is not the super explosive, take the top off the defense type number 2 receiver many Dallas Cowboys fans have wanted. However, Reynolds might be a better choice as a number two receiver. He has soft hands and catches away from the body, something Terrance Williams has had issues with.

He runs very good routes and knows how to use his frame and technique to keep cornerbacks away from the ball. He isn’t afraid to run over the middle and can create separation. He is a willing run blocker and will get his nose into the play.

Where Reynolds could find a lot of issues is his lack of size. He has the height to out jump anyone, but he is thin and lacks strength. He will be jammed by larger corners if he doesn’t add some weight to his frame.

He is nothing special on wide receiver screens and doesn’t have the speed to outrun a lot of people. Due to his height, he has trouble with balls thrown low at times and will need to work on this. His footwork can get sloppy, and he will need to improve it help offset the size.

All in all, Reynolds should be a rather productive number two receiver in the NFL. He is a monster in the red zone and will be a nightmare on the opposite side of Dez Bryant. If he can add some size, he should be a solid number two.
