Josh Harvey-Clemmons, S, Lousiville – Projected Round(s) – 6-7

The Dallas Cowboys tend to take chances on players who have talent, but also have had some issues in the past. Harvey-Clemmons had failed two drug tests his two years in college when he played for Georgia. Since, there was only one violation of team rules when he first arrived at Louisville.

The last few years he has kept his nose clean and shown that he is still a high quality player.

Widely considered one of the hardest hitters in college football, many receivers and running backs learned quickly to get down when he was running toward them. He is always looking for the ball carrier and loves the physicality of hitting people.

He will wrap-up and tackle who uses power to knock the ball carrier down. His ability to read play-action and find someone to cover is excellent and he has pretty good hands for a safety.

His problems stem from getting grabby or panicking if he feels he could get beat as the last line of defense. In zone he is comfortable as single high as long as he isn’t asked to man up once the receiver gets to him.

He will provide very good help to corners and looks to communicate with them.

He could be great for depth and should be feared on special teams. He may need to add a little weight, but his frame looks like he should be able to do so easily.
