Wednesday marked the end of Cactus League play for the Texas Rangers. They’re now just two exhibition games away from starting meaningful play, but a few questions still linger.

The Texas Rangers have closed the door on another Cactus League season with 15 wins and 16 losses. While wins and losses don’t really matter, there’s nothing wrong with a nice even record. But more importantly, it appears nobody has gone down with a season-ending injury.

Opening night starter Yu Darvish has pitched like he’s in mid-season form. Meanwhile, Cole Hamels held opposing hitters to a .222 batting average against him this spring.

Outfielder Carlos Gomez has solidified himself as the starting center fielder by batting .361 with three home runs and nine runs batted in through 14 games. His swing looks great and he’s showing everyone why Texas wanted to re-sign him this past offseason.

Guys like Delino DeShields and Mike Hauschild also put together some good work and likely earned spots on the big league roster. Yet, there are still a few unknowns about the team and the upcoming season.
