Week 10 — Sunday, November 12 @ Atlanta Falcons, 3:25 PM CST, FOX

With all due respect to the Packers, this might be the biggest game on the schedule for the Cowboys next year. Playing the Atlanta Falcons in the Georgia Dome after playing a postseason team the week before and as a third road game in four days, they’ll have a lot to deal with.

Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan passed for a second-best 4,944 yards last season and enters his tenth season in the NFL. He set career highs in passing yards, yards per attempt (9.4), touchdowns (38) and fewest interceptions (7).

He has a great pair of receivers to throw to as well in Julio Jones and Mohamed Sanu. They hauled in a combined 142 receptions for 2,062 yards and 10 touchdowns. Jones, himself might be the NFL’s most explosive playmaker, having hauled in 27 receptions of 20+ yards last season.

But when the Cowboys have the ball, they have a chance to keep the game close. Atlanta finished 2016 with the NFL’s fifth-worst passing defense, yielding 267 yards per game. If Bryant and Terence Williams can find ways to get open with Jason Witten in the flats, this game could easily become an aerial shootout. And although Atlanta was much better against the run than the pass last year, they are still susceptible to a big run from Elliott.
