Brian Brown, WR, Richmond

First, finding a lot of tape on Brown isn’t super easy. However, I like what I was able to find. Brown sells his routes fairly well, although will round routes off a little bit. He looks to work back to his QB and gives himself an opportunity to make a catch. He will work across the field and with about a 4.5 40 has the ability to break one. He has really strong hands and can make some seriously athletic plays. He will need some work getting against bigger corners as well as press man coverage.

Brown has a real shot to make the roster, even if it is the practice squad. His hands alone will keep him in the discussion. Brown isn’t going to blow the doors off of a defense, but he won’t drop many passes to kill a drive either. He has some work ahead of him, but Brown is a name I would watch for in training camp.

Blake Jarwin, TE, Oklahoma St.

Jarwin looks like he could be a really strong tight end, the only problem is, I’m not sure he uses it right as a blocker. The good news is, that he isn’t a bad blocker, he just needs work. He has the tools that he could be a starting tight end one day, but has some work ahead of him. He wasn’t used as often as many would have liked to see in OK St, however, when used in the passing game he was pretty solid. Again, as a run blocker I would get him some training first.

I see Jarwin could hang around and work on his craft. I wouldn’t see him more than a work in progress for now, but that is okay. If he can learn to block and run a little sharper routes, he could be at the very least a strong number two tight end. If he can pick up the training, he has starting potential. This offseason will be vital for him.
