Michael Coe, OL, North Dakota St.

Coe has a great first punch and looks to take the block to the lineman and not wait for them to approach him. He has the ability to play all five spots on the line although Guard and Center might be his strength due to his foot work and speed. He has a clunky hand placement but looks like he keeps his pad level a little high which affects this. Easily a fixable thing with some training. He is a smart good character guy who could find a role as a backup.

Coe needs some work to be a starter one day. However, I would not be super worried if he had to play in spot duty. I think if he can prove to be a swing guard and backup center he could be a great depth addition. I do worry about his footwork, but he might be able to fix it. He has the initial power you want out of the guard position and wouldn’t hurt you in the run game.

Levon Myers, OT, Norther Illinois

Myers is a big kid, he has the strength and presence of an NFL lineman. Watching him, his first punch is massive, but his footwork is not that good. He does play with a good strong base, but plays really high and doesn’t bend well. It looks like he could be a guard, but has experience as a tackle. He can find himself a little off balance against speed as a left tackle, so maybe a move to right tackle could benefit him. I do love his nastiness when it comes to blocking though.

Myers could find a slot on the depth chart if he can work on his feet. I think he could be strong in the run game as his size and power could move defensive linemen at the NFL level immediately. My best guess is they try him at both swing guard and swing tackle and see where he sticks. He could be a practice squad guy for a year or two while working his way up.
