Dallas Mavericks 2017-18 projected starting lineup
Who will the Dallas Mavericks have in their starting lineup this upcoming season? We take a look at what it should look like…
The Dallas Mavericks have entered into a new era of basketball. The youth movement instilled by Mark Cuban and Co. is taking the city by storm, and there is a lot of anticipation for this upcoming season.
Yet questions about rotations remain. What blend of youth and experience will work the best? Rick Carlisle has a lot of options to work with, especially in the backcourt. Deron Williams is no longer in the mix, but Yogi Ferrell is back along with J.J. Barea and Devin Harris.
The most notable addition is potential star rookie, Dennis Smith Jr., who impressed in the Summer League. While he is sure to see the court a lot this year, it has yet to be determined what his exact role will be.
Combo guard Seth Curry is entering a contract year. Last season, he started in just over half of his appearances, and his versatility at point guard and shooting guard gives Carlisle a lot of flexibility.
Harrison Barnes and Wesley Matthews are holding down the wings. Like last year, Dorian Finney-Smith should provide solid defense off the bench. Dirk Nowitzki once again changed up his contract to save Dallas money. The depth surrounding the Big German includes Dwight Powell and Salah Mejri.
Although not yet in a contract agreement, restricted free agent Nerlens Noel figures to be back in a Mavericks uniform by the season’s start.
