Dallas Cowboys: Fantasy football matchups for Week Seven
By Carl Daley
The Dallas Cowboys will have some fantastic fantasy football matchups this week as they take on the San Francisco 49ers. Here is an analysis.
Week Seven of the NFL regular season is here and Ezekiel Elliott fantasy owners have to be pleased as the Dallas Cowboys star running back should see the field for at least the next two weeks.
This week some of the Cowboys have a fantastic matchup that may just help owners win this week. Here is a look at some of the fantasy matchups facing the Dallas Cowboys this week.
Ezekiel Elliott (Running Back): Elliott will be on the field this week against the 49ers and that is the best matchup he has had all season long. The Cowboys have had a pretty tough schedule and this is one of the bright matchups in an overall abysmal stretch.
Zeke should be good to go and ready to rack up the yards against a weak 49ers run defense.San Francisco has given up the third most fantasy points to running backs this year, so this matchup is especially tantalizing.
Expect a big week from the 2016 rushing leader.
Dez Bryant (Wide Receiver): As bad as the 49ers run defense is, their pass defense is even worse. They have given up the 11th most fantasy points to wide receivers this season and Bryant is the main option for Prescott.
Over the last two games, Bryant has seen over 7 targets and has at least 5 receptions. He either finds the end zone or gains close to 100 yards, either way, double-digit fantasy points are not bad. Dez has yet to have a “big” game though, and this could be his week.
A 20 point game from Bryant is not out of the realm of possibility.

Dak Prescott (Quarterback): The defensive backs for the 49ers will struggle against Prescott especially with a full cadre of offensive weapons. This week Dak will have his best matchup of the season coming off his best fantasy football game of the season.
Over 30 fantasy points from a quarterback is elite and Prescott should be around that mark this week. He has averaged around 250 yards and three touchdowns over the last two games and the 49ers have allowed at least 314 passing yards over their last three games.
With San Francisco giving up the 6th most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season, Dak is a high-end QB1 this week.
Cole Beasley (Wide Receiver): Beasley has seen six targets in his last two games but he really has not done much with them. Against the Green Bay Packers, he did score his first two touchdowns of the season however he only had four receptions totaling 23 yards.
If Beasley continues to be a threat in the red zone then his stock value should rise but for right now he is a low-end flex play for Week Seven. The Cowboys have a great matchup and if the 49ers devout all of their attention to Dez Bryant, Beasley could have a shot at a pretty big game.
Jason Witten (Tight End): This is the one bad matchup out of every player on this list. The 49ers have not allowed a touchdown to a tight end all season long. They have not allowed a tight end to gain over 40 yards and the team as a whole has given up the least amount of points to players at that position.
Still, Witten is a huge part of this offense and you cannot possibly ignore the 10 targets he saw last week. He managed to catch 8 of them and even though it was only for 61 yards he still managed to get at least eight points in half PPR/PPR fantasy football leagues.
He will get you more points than guys like Jared Cook this week and could be a primary red zone target.
Next: Zeke can play! Good or bad news for the Cowboys?
Dallas Cowboys Defense: The Dallas defense is finally getting their captain, Sean Lee, back. He is the best linebacker against the run in the NFL and will change how this defense looks completely.
Rookie signal caller, C.J. Beathard will take over as the 49ers starting QB and that immediately makes you love everything about the Cowboys matchup this week. They should be at the top of the list this week for players who stream defenses.
