2nd Round – Billy Price – Guard/Center – Ohio St.

Since this draft is thin at the top of offensive linemen, we could see the Dallas Cowboys try to grab one of the better ones in the first two rounds. Linebacker could easily be the pick here with someone like Micah Kiser or Dante Booker, but knowing how bad the offensive line hurt the Cowboys at times, guard is the next best choice.

Price can play both center and guard, but projects as a guard in the NFL. Although some team needing a center could easily grab him and be happy.

Price is not going to blow you away with athleticism, but he will be just about perfect every other way that most don’t notice. His hand placement is great, his punch and power are above average, and he can take on large tackles easily. He is stout in both the run and the pass and every report out there says is he is smart and works harder than everyone else.

The only part to Price’s game that will need to be developed is the quick twitch. Like I said, he won’t jump off the screen like some other linemen would, but a little faster reaction and he could be a piece for a long time on anyone’s line.

I would think if he is around in the middle of the second the Cowboys may jump all over him. I would not be surprised if they go linebacker or safety if someone like Marcus Allen is there, but this seems like a Jason and Jerry pick all the way.
