4th Round – Bo Scarbrough – Running Back – Alabama

There might be some out there scratching their heads as to why the Dallas Cowboys would get a running back in the fourth round. Well, it became apparent that if something happens to Ezekiel Elliott the Cowboys will need all hands on deck at running back. Alfred Morris may not come back in order to save some money and Bo Scarbrough could be a good replacement.

Scarbrough was not the main running back at Alabama this year, but when he was given a chance to run, he took complete advantage. He averaged over six yards a carry and looks like he could be an every down back in the NFL if he had to be. He has surprising speed and good power. His vision is decent, but not enough chances to see how he does over a full game.

What could be the knock on Bo is he didn’t play a ton. Teams may not know what they are getting until after they have drafted him. He will need to work on blitz pickups and receiving, but if he can prove he can do both of these things, he could be a sleeper as a backup.

The only other way to go here would have been cornerback and maybe another wide receiver. Just thinking about the Cowboys looking to replace Morris was the reason for this pick.
