NASHVILLE, TN – OCTOBER 16: Terrelle Pryor /

1. Terrelle Pryor

The number one option on the market to me, was many people’s number one option a year ago. Terrelle Pryor is one of the most physically gifted athletes in the NFL.  The former Ohio State quarterback entered the league as a passer, but after numerous failed attempts he switched to receiver.

In 2015 Pryor was signed by Cleveland and began the transition. The following season he broke out, catching 77 balls for 1,007 yards and four touchdowns. His 4.38 speed came through at receiver, providing 11 plays of 20+ yards and 4 plays of 40+ yards.

But even last year the market appeared saturated. Pryor signed a one-year deal with the Redskins hoping to shine even brighter and pave the way for a more lucrative deal. 20 balls and 240 yards later, he appeared to do the opposite.

It’s hard to believe he thrived in Cleveland and struggled in Washington, given the QB situations in both places, but something clearly kept him from contributing in our nation’s capital.

Even still, it’s hard not fall in love with the speed, strength, and athleticism that Terrelle Pryor has. You can’t teach that. At 6’4” 228lbs Pryor is one of the biggest receivers in the league. He has both the deep speed the Dallas Cowboys need and the catch radius Dak Prescott requires.

Pryor is 28-years old so the clock is ticking on his career. He’s a bit of a gamble but one with enormous upside.

All in all, Mike Wallace may be the safest pick, but we don’t even know if he’ll hit the market and how much he’ll cost if he does. Pyror’s upside edges Wallace out for me. He’s hungry and he’s inexpensive. He’s a big target with deep speed.

One thing’s for sure, the Dallas Cowboys have to something at receiver this offseason.
