Dallas Cowboys Complete 7-Round Mock Draft V1.2: Prioritizing Needs
By Reid Hanson
Round 6 Pick 197: Austin Corbett – OT – Nevada
Austin Corbett is a high character guy the Cowboys like in the later stages of the draft. The four-year Nevada starter has bounced between right and left tackle throughout his college career. And he may be adding another…
According to Walterfootball, Corbett will be participating in the Senior Bowl later this month. And he’ll be doing so as a center. As a day three player with position flex, he could easily fit what the Cowboys are looking for.

The aspiring surgeon has already received his bachelor’s degree but seems committed to the NFL in the near future. Since intelligence is never a bad thing on a team like the Cowboys – a team known for stupid mistakes and avoidable suspensions, Corbett would add value as a project player.
I expect the Cowboys to address the backup offensive line in free agency so I don’t see Corbett earning a roster spot from Day 1. But I do see him as a developmental player much like Nate Theaker was for Dallas last year.
Austin Corbett will really see his appraisal at the Senior Bowl. When he can show his practice habits, and measure his ability side by side against his peers, we’ll all get a better grasp as to what the future holds for him. But as of now he’s a fine young man who knows what he’s doing and plays a position of need.
