Dallas Cowboys: Difference between Cowboys and Eagles coaching staff?
By Carl Daley
The Philadelphia Eagles are on the way to the Super Bowl and that has Dallas Cowboy fans upset. What are the major differences between the coaching staffs?
The Philadelphia Eagles have just advanced to the Super Bowl by defeating the Minnesota Vikings. It seems a bit odd that the Eagles were able to crush the Vikings with ease while dealing with an array of problems similar to what the Dallas Cowboys had faced earlier on in the season. Let’s examine some of the similarities and differences between the divisions two best teams.
The Dallas Cowboys coaching staff boasts some incredible talent. We can all remember how every coach after the Cowboys stellar 2016 season was sought after. It was incredible that defensive coordinator, Rod Marinelli, could do so much with so little.
Offensive coordinator Scott Linehan was rumored to be in demand after his success with Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott, and the Cowboys high octane offense. Even after a disappointing season like the current one we are living through, the team’s wide receiver, linebacker/passing game coordinator, and head special teams coach will likely be gone.
The Eagles will experience this during the 2018 offseason however they should see some larger changes occur. Philadelphia played so well this season, offensive coordinator, Frank Reich, and defensive coordinator, Jim Schwartz, are expected to become head coaches in the coming year.
The first thing that is fairly noticeable is if both their offensive and defensive coordinators leave, that would be one heck of a challenge to overcome heading into the 2018 season.
The development of the Eagles offensive scheme would slow down which could lead to some continuity errors. The Dallas Cowboys may not have to worry about coordinators leaving this season, and could bring in some extra juice if the rumors are to be believed. Seattle Seahawks defensive coordinator, Kris Richard, has actually met with Dallas and he could be in line to become the next linebackers coach in Big D.
The Cowboys stand to land some interesting coaching selections during the offseason while the Eagles stand to lose several premier coaches. While that may be a plus the two head coaches in this equation are vastly different.

Jason Garrett has a 67-53 record in the eight years he has been the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys. Doug Pederson has only been a head coach for two seasons however in those two years he has gone 20-12.
The Eagles winning overall percentage this season has changed drastically over the span of just a season.
One of the biggest issues with Garrett has been the lack of adjustments he makes throughout the course of a football game.

Pederson has a more hard nosed in your face style which likely comes from his hunger as a relatively young head coach. One thing is certain, Cowboys fans will be beside themselves if a second-year head coach dealing with multiple injured starting players can somehow defeat Tom Brady and the New England Patriots, to give the Eagles their first Superbowl championship.
