Round 4 – Sony Michel – RB – Georgia

As I wrote about before in The Dallas Cowboys Need Their Own Alvin Kamara, the Cowboys need a compliment for Ezekiel Elliott.  2017 Rose Bowl hero, Sony Michel can be exactly what they need.

Many scouts like Michel over fellow Georgia running back Nick Chubb because he was an excellent runner and pass catcher in his four years at the University of Georgia.  He had 3638 rushing yards on 591 carries with 33 touchdowns.

As a receiver, Michel had 64 receptions for 621 yards and 6 touchdowns.  He has the speed which gives him a dangerous quick-strike ability.  Michel’s skill as a pass blocker are also above average which would be beneficial in the NFL.

With Alfred Morris likely leaving in free agency and Rod Smith still rather unproven, Michel can come into an immediate role in the offense.  Michel also provides insurance if Elliott misses any time for unforeseen circumstances.  Scott Linehan can be more creative with the offense and the play calling would be less predictable.

While being so devoted to the run game, the dynamic pairing of Elliott and Michel would allow the Cowboys to dominate opponents on the ground week in and week out.
