Dallas Cowboys complete 7-Round Mock Draft V1.4
By Carl Daley
4th Round – B.J. Hill – Defensive Tackle – N.C. State-
The Dallas Cowboys will need to find some depth along the defensive tackle position and Hill could be just the player they are looking for. The entire North Carolina State defensive line was a terror last season and Hill was always at the primary point of contact.
He is a solid run defender and has shown that he can force turnovers. The defensive tackle positional depth in this draft is pretty good so there is a chance that Hill makes it to the Cowboys in the fourth.
Hill may not get you a ton of sacks but he will help clog up the middle of the field and stop the run. As for the alternative pick, if the Cowboys cannot find their next defensive tackle they may attempt to find a replacement for Jason Witten.
The closest player to that mold in the 2018 draft would have to be Stanford tight end, Dalton Schultz. He has solid hands and should become a terrific red zone threat as he progresses in his career.
The Cowboys will like him right away however because of his capable blocking abilities. If he can be a consistent blocker in the NFL Schultz will have a job for a very long time. He is a solid route runner and while he may not have the stats you may see in higher ranked tight ends, he has proven to be a reliable and versatile offensive weapon.
Alternative Pick: Dalton Schultz – Tight End – Stanford
