Cowboys 7-Rd Mock Draft v2.0: Finding the X-Factor (2/7)
By Reid Hanson
Round 6, Pick 196
J’Mon Moore, WR, Missouri
J’Mon Moore is another tall and slender receiver I thought the Cowboys would be avoiding. But you have to take the value that’s presented to you and in this draft I think everyone is going to be drafting the short and stout options extremely high.
I expect all of Cowboys Nation’s favorite receiver targets to be gone by the top of the third so Dallas will have to be opportunistic with their selections at WR. St. Brown was one which I think will pay off and J’Mon Moore is another with outside receiver potential.
Moore stands 6’3” 205lbs. He’s a willing blocking but doesn’t battle for contested balls with the same fire. He’s a long-strider but he’s fast and gets deep in a hurry. He’s collected over 1,000 yards each the past two seasons despite double coverage.
Withthefirstpick.com pointed out that Moore doesn’t exactly run the most complex route tree. As such, he’s going to need time to develop. It would be nice to find a polished route runner here but any that are available at this point, don’t have NFL ability.
It’s all about development in the sixth round and Moore has good potential to develop. Besides, The Cowboys seem intent on giving Terrance Williams, Dez Bryant, and Cole Beasley another chance in 2018 so the earliest someone would break through as a starter(save for Calvin Ridley or D.J. Moore) would be 2019 anyway.
