Round 4 – Brandon Parker – Offensive Tackle – NC A&T

Parker was relatively an unknown coming out of NC A&T among college football fans. With an invite to the senior bowl, many scouts got to see him for the first time against real talent. That is when Parker went from being a very late round player to a middle round pick. Parker is raw and will need refinement, but it looks like he could be a solid swing tackle and eventually be a starting caliber tackle.

Standing at 6’7” 314 pounds works both for him and against him all at once right now. While he is a monster to try to get around, he will need work on using his size to its full potential. He should be extending his arms out to use his length on his initial punch, but that doesn’t really happen right now. However, he uses his length and size very well in the run game and if he gets to the second level is an absolute nightmare.

At this point in the late fourth round, you are starting to look for gems or depth that can step in and play with a little work. Jalyn Holmes was a name that would drop from time to time as a pass rusher and of course, JC Jackson is still on the board, but until his off-field issues are addressed, I left him out as “not a Garrett guy”/someone who the Dallas Cowboys will not take a risk on.

Here is a video of Parker against Grambling. He is the left tackle, number 70.
