5th Round – 173rd overall: Cole Madison (Washington State): Madison will likely be an offensive guard at the next level as he will struggle to protect his quarterback against some of the top-tier defensive ends in the pros. He has great athletic ability and the foot quickness of a pro.

He will be most productive in space which would be great for the Dallas Cowboys as they will need a new swing tackle. Madison is not the most elite offensive lineman in this draft but his strength and agility will help separate him from the pack.

The Cowboys landing him in the fifth round makes sense as he is just too talented to fall any farther than that. The Cowboys will likely go this route for a swing tackle/guard if A. they do not sign Cameron Flemming, or B. cannot select Will Hernandez earlier in the draft.

More from Dallas Cowboys

I personally like the idea of waiting for a swing tackle until the later rounds or potentially signing a key offensive lineman in free agency more than spending an early pick on the position. The Cowboys have too many holes to focus on this offseason to nitpick about their offensive line play.

Alternate Pick: Kylie Fitts (Utah): Fitts is going to fall simply because he has not been able to stay healthy. He has next level quickness and agility, however, injuries have really kept him from putting together a lot of highlights on tape.

He has great burst no matter how he is rushing and has the building blocks to be a disruptive pass rusher. He has great change of direction speed and long appendages which make for a deadly combination in the NFL.

He also is fairly decent in coverage something that most defensive lineman seem to struggle with. He does have the height (6’4) and the weight (263LBS) to be a defensive end at the next level there is really only one question, can he stay healthy? It would be a risky pick for Dallas but at this point in the draft why not take a chance and get a defensive end.
