7th Round – 236th overall: Dewey Jarvis (Brown): Now we are getting to the players who will help predominantly on a special teams level during their first year in the league. Jarvis will be one of the better special teams players from the start of camp. He needs to develop some key pass rushing moves in order to solidify a spot on an NFL roster.

He has various explosive traits that the Cowboys should like but the level of competition that he has faced has been lacking to put it kindly. Playing in the Ivy League does not draw a ton of eyes but that could be a blessing in disguise for Dallas.

Alternate Pick: T.J. McCollum (Iowa): McCollum was not even invited to the NFL Combine however he still stood out as one of Purdue’s top playmakers. The Dallas Cowboys are going to need another linebacker to play special teams and come in in a pinch.

McCollum could be a cheap solution to a fairly grand problem. He is a leader on and off the field and continues to impress scouting departments. The Cowboys could look to find some talent off the beaten path and Purdue’s top linebacker would be the natural choice.
