Round 5 – Equanimeous St. Brown – Wide Receiver – Notre Dame

I’ve seen so many different rankings of St. Brown, to be honest I am not sure where he will be drafted. I’ve seen him ranked somewhere between a third and fifth rounder. Since Matt Miller‘s big board had him available in almost every fifth round, I went with it and smiled if this were to happen.

St. Brown is a quick receiver who can take the top off of a defense, something the Dallas Cowboys have been lacking. He has solid hands and has the ability to go up and make difficult catches. He does have the ability to break a play at any moment. All things the Cowboys are looking for at the wide receiver position.

The biggest reason I could see St. Brown dropping to the fourth or fifth round is his route running needs some work. He will round off his routes, using his speed and agility make up for it. At times he will get out muscled by press corners and this can cause up and down commitment in games. Give him a year or two in the right wide receiver corps and time to develop he could be one of the better number two receivers.

This was a hard position to pick in as there were not many players who could be considered starters. This was all about role players who could develop. The other name that kept popping up was wide receiver Allen Lazard, but St. Brown was higher rated on the board.
