Dallas Cowboys 7-Round Mock Draft V4.1: Draft visits edition
By Carl Daley
Round 2, Pick 35 [TRADE]: D.J. Moore-Wide Receiver- (Maryland)
The Dallas Cowboys make their first trade of the draft as they move up to the third spot in the second round. They deal a fourth and sixth round pick to the Cleveland Browns to take over the 35th selection.
Now the Cowboys aim here is to take a wide receiver but internally I am split on that being D.J. Moore (who is my favorite receiver in this class), Courtland Sutton, or Christian Kirk.
In reality, the Cowboys have met with every top wide receiver in this draft class so one of them is coming to Dallas but the best option here is Maryland’s, D.J. Moore. It is questionable that any wide receiver gets taken prior to the 25th pick in the first round considering a lot of the top players have second-round grades.
When you consider the depth at linebacker, defensive line, quarterback, and offensive line in the first round how do you not see wide receivers sliding a considerable distance. Moore is what the Cowboys absolutely need, a speedy deep threat that gets the most out of his routes. He may struggle against physical corners but his speed is really unmatched.
If you are looking for an Antonio Brown style receiver in this years draft class, Moore is it (well Moore and Michael Gallup but the Cowboys have not met with Colorado State star). Moore can be used on the outside and in the slot and that would make him a deadly weapon for this offense.
I had Moore going earlier than this in a few mocks but the Cowboys get lucky here and can snag one of the most productive receivers in this draft class.
