Round 7, Pick 236: Trey Quinn-Wide Receiver- (SMU)

Trey Quinn (AKA Baby Beckham) is one of the fiercest slot receivers in the draft. He would also be an answer to the ineffective play of both Cole Beasley and Ryan Switzer.

He is not exactly a clone of those players though as he has shown more strength and route running ability than both Beasley and Switzer. He took part in Dallas Day and easily has been one of SMU’s top wide receivers.

Nothing about him athletically will wow you, and quarterbacks would need to be on time with their throws as he is not big enough to catch jump balls. He would essentially be looked at as the replacement for Beasley and could have similar production, the upside does seem higher with Quinn at this point.

He is not your typical proven athlete at the position however his game tape and feel for his routes and defenders are second to none. Smith could grow into an elusive and dangerous weapon in the right system.
