Round Four – Wyatt Teller – Guard – Virginia Tech

With their first pick in the fourth round the Dallas Cowboys go after another need, a guard. While this may not be a sexy pick when a tight end and maybe another linebacker could be grabbed, Teller is a smart pick here. He not only fits a need, but could be a little bit of a steal.

If someone had asked me to look at Teller after the 2016 season, I would have landed him somewhere in the 2nd or 3rd round. Teller looked really strong and was set to build upon that for 2017. For whatever reason, Teller didn’t look exactly like the same player, but every season up until then, Teller was looking really good. He should be available and if he can be 2016 Feller, he is a second round talent in the fourth round.

Teller has great power and is a converted defensive lineman. His first punch is one of the strongest ones in this draft. For whatever reason his footwork looked sloppier this year compared to last, and he looks like he needs a little work holding blocks a little longer. He has the ability to fix all of these things, and if he is really closer to 2016 Teller, he will be better than the tape from this year.
