DeMarcus Lawrence – Left Defensive End

26-years-old

6’3” 265lbs

Key Stat: Second most sacks in the NFL last season

DeMarcus Lawrence didn’t just have a breakout season last year, but he arguably proved to be the best defensive end in the entire NFL. Finishing with 14.5 sacks (second in the NFL) and 79 total pressures (third), Lawrence provided consistent pressure from Week 1 through Week 17.

According to Pro Football Focus, he applied this pressure with only 454 pass-rushing opportunities. This gave him a pass-rushing productivity of 14.8, which is the best in the NFL.

While this was clearly a breakout season, there’s reason to believe it’s no fluke and actually quite sustainable. DeMarcus “Tank” Lawrence is a master of technique. He doesn’t rely on any one move, but rather an arsenal of moves. Additionally, he grades at one of the best against the screen and the run.

Without any weaknesses to speak of, Tank has no reason to leave the field unless he needs breather. Having just turned 26 in April, Tank is just entering his prime. Playing on the Franchise Tag, he’s motivated and ready to prove he’s a pass-rushing fixture to everyone in the NFL.

Because of all of this, there’s every reason to believe he will build on his tremendous 2017 season and lead the Dallas Cowboys in sacks(and probably the NFL as well) this season .
