The national media, and outsiders in general, seem to always get things wrong concerning the Dallas Cowboys and their fans. Here are the top five common misconceptions:
Everybody seems to either love the Dallas Cowboys or they seem to hate them. There isn’t a whole lotta middle ground when it comes to “America’s Team”. This international fascination for the blue star has made the franchise a talking point in sports circles everywhere.
And why not?
Who isn’t interested in hearing the latest gossip surrounding this aggressively polarizing team? The team has historically been littered with characters over the years. From bombastic players to the outspoken owner, headlines can be found in the most innocent of conversations.
But all of this interest comes at a cost. National media is savvy to the attention the Cowboys generate and they make it a point to cover Big D any chance they can get. This need for America’s Team has led to a lot of misinformation over the years. It has also falsely indoctrinated many outsiders as to who the Cowboys are and what’s really going on inside of The Star.
So, it’s time to set the record straight. It’s time to clear up some of those misconceptions and to expose those false naritives that so many outsiders cling to as to avoid actual reality.
