St. Louis Blues – B+

The Blues have arguably done the most out of all of the Central Division teams, and their signings were very good. They added back forward David Perron to their roster of four-years after he was selected by Vegas in the expansion draft. After losing Carter Hutton to the Buffalo Sabres, they signed G Chad Johnson for one year.

Additionally, they signed forward Tyler Bozak for three seasons, after he played the past nine seasons with Toronto. The big splash they made early on in free agency was with Buffalo, where they traded away a 2019 1st round, 2021 2nd round, Tage Thompson, Patrik Berglund, and Vladimir Sobotka in exchange for center Ryan O’Reilly.

These transactions make St. Louis’ centerman core one of, if not the most dangerous in the league with Brayden Schenn, Ryan O’Reilly, Tyler Bozak, and Ivan Barbashev taking the face-offs.

The Blues also signed centermen Brian Flynn and Jordan Nolan and to one-year deals, and re-signed Robby Fabbri and MacKenzie MacEachern each to one-year contracts.

St. Louis is looking to reload their offense with some firepower after they struggled with their goal output last season.
