Antoine Roussel, a widely popular fan favorite amongst Dallas Stars fans for many years, is now a member of the Vancouver Canucks. Here is a top 5 list of his best scrums and scraps while he wore Victory Green.

5. Roussel starts a fight with Keith Yandle, but Yandle retreats

A game in 2018 between the Dallas Stars and the Panthers finished with a total of 138 penalty minutes. With a stat like that, you better believe that Antoine Roussel got in on the action. On a play that led to the injury of James Reimer, defenseman Keith Yandle attacked Roussel. Antoine, however, held his ground, threw a few uppercuts, and Yandle ended up trying to avoid Roussel for the rest of the fight.

4. His nose-grab on Daniel Carcillo

In mid-October of 2013, Roussel got in a chirping battle after the whistle with LA forward Daniel Carcillo. After they dropped the gloves, the Frenchman chased after Carcillo and grabbed his nose in the fight.

3. Roussel repeatedly pops Barret Jackman in St. Louis

In early 2015, Roussel and Jackman drifted down the entire length of the ice and fought in the defensive zone. Roussel got in a few monster punches in the fight, which was instigated by Roussel after he and Jackman were feuding in the Blues’ offensive zone.

2. Antoine gives Matt Irwin the meat fists along the boards

On October 13, Roussel came to the aid of teammate Trevor Daley, who was sent crashing into the boards by San Jose Shark Matt Irwin. Rous took exception and pummeled Irwin with several left punches.

1. Roussel’s insane battle with Andrew Shaw

The best (and probably most well-known) fight that Antoine took part in while he was a Dallas Star was in Chicago. After some shifting and moving around by Dallas, Roussel and Shaw dropped the gloves right after the faceoff. They didn’t stop fighting, even when the linesmen jumped in to try and break it up.

Later in the game, Roussel was hooked on a breakaway and was awarded a penalty shot. He ended up going bar down on Corey Crawford to give Dallas a 4-3. What he did after the goal, however, put a target squarely on his back for quite some time. He taunted the crowd and gave them the silent ear.

Antoine Roussel may be gone, but he will always be a Dallas Star.

Au revoir, Rous.
