The Dallas Stars have a fairly decent amount of depth in terms of prospects and in the AHL. Here is a look at some of their best and most promising young players.

It’s time to assess the Dallas Stars roster and future roster. Today we dive in deep and look at some of the franchises best prospects. These are names you need to know…

Left Wingers

  • Denis Gurianov

The Dallas Stars drafted left-winger Denis Gurianov 12th overall in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.

Gurianov scored 34 points (19 G, 15 A) in 74 games with the Texas Stars in the American Hockey League (AHL) last year. That is a 7 point increase from the year before, where he scored 27 points (12 G, 15 A) in 57 games.

The Togliatti, Russia native also scored two goals and three assists for Texas in the Calder Cup Playoffs last season. Gurianov, who has a left-handed shot, has great puck skills and speed. He should be expected to make the jump to the NHL sometime this season or next.

Gurianov additionally recorded seven points (4 G, 3 A) in seven games for Russia’s U20 team at the World Juniors in 2017.

  • Jason Robertson

Dallas drafted Canadian-born player Jason Robertson 39th overall in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.

While with the Kingston Frontenacs in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) over the past three seasons, Robertson has scored 200 points (101 G, 99 A) in 190 games.

Last season, Robertson finished at 7th in the OHL in points with 87 (41 G, 46 A). The year before, he finished at 13th in the league with 81 (42 G, 39 A). The Arcadia, California native led the Frontenacs in both of the past two seasons.

  • Roope Hintz

Hintz was drafted 49th overall by the Dallas Stars in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.

Roope, who played with the Texas Stars last season, scored 35 points (20 G, 15 A) in 70 games. He also added 12 points in 22 Calder Cup Playoff games, recording 4 goals and 8 assists.

The season before, with HIFK in Finland’s elite league, Liiga, Hintz put up 30 points (19 G, 11 A) in just 44 games.

The 21-year-old has shown his offensive success in the AHL and the Liiga, and will hopefully transition well into the NHL.
