The Dallas Cowboys have a handful of players who are so skilled they could be Pro Bowlers but also so raw they could be cut. Here are 5 players with the most Boom-Bust potential…

Training camp for the Dallas Cowboys is the time when surprise super stars are discovered. I’m not talking about Ezekiel Elliott or Dak Prescott. We EXPECT those guys to step up big. I’m talking about undiscovered talent.

Players who hold massive Boom or Bust potential are the ones we’re looking at here. All of these players we’re about to discuss have legitimate Pro Bowl potential (some with All-Pro potential). But they are so raw, so undeveloped, so questionable some may not even make the final 53-man cut.

With Boom – Bust potential like this, you can bet all eyes will be on these players through the preseason. If only one of these players hit, they have the ability to significantly change the Dallas Cowboys fortunes this season.

This isn’t just fantasy land either. The Dallas Cowboys have a history of finding diamonds in the rough. Tony Romo, Miles Austin and Jay Ratliff are just a couple examples of Pro Bowlers who were never supposed to make it.

Every season the Cowboys seem to load up on these longshots with homerun potential. But this season they are especially stacked in this exciting category. It appears we’ve reached D-Day on number of Boom or Bust candidates this season. The ones who step up will be given the opportunity to shine, while those that fail to step up will likely move on to be some other team’s project (or out of the NFL entirely).

The time is now and the opportunities are plenty. The Cowboys coaching staff is mixing things up this season, running new schemes on both offense and defense. Jobs are there for the taking as long as these five players step up and grab it. Some will be given the whole season, but others will have to earn it in training camp. The Dallas Cowboys appear to be loaded with talent this season, but not all of that talent has been developed. Here are five players with the highest unrealized potential this season…
