The Dallas Cowboys will have several fantasy football stars heading into the 2018 season. Let’s take a look at which ones will match your draft strategy.

Fantasy football season is upon us and the Dallas Cowboys will have some interesting players to select for your team. The team has changed so drastically that it is tough to say just who will be the most productive players on offense (other than Ezekiel Elliott).

Each of the Dallas Cowboys top players should be available regardless of the fantasy draft strategy you utilized. With that said let’s take a look at what Dallas Cowboys you should target for each draft strategy.

Waiting on quarterback:

Now Dak Prescott used to have a fairly high average draft position (ADP). After his rookie season, it was tough to get him for quality value as people expected so much out of his production. After he fell back to earth, he should be able to be taken towards the end of most drafts. Dad has an incredible amount of rushing touchdowns and rarely makes mistakes if his receivers run the correct routes.

Right now in any format PPR/Half/Standard, you could find the Dallas Cowboys quarterback pretty much available and untouched. This should be a bounce-back season for Prescott as the team has gotten him a lot of receivers who will fit his strengths as a passer. Expect players like Michael Gallup and Allen Hurns to make a huge difference in the way the Dallas Cowboys signal caller performs.

These players are focused on running the correct routes and have exquisite hand skills so I would expect them to make a marked difference in the way the Dallas Cowboys pass the football. I would even argue that this receiving corps is better than where it was a season ago as there are so many versatile tools in Dak’s arsenal. For fantasy owners, he should be the perfect option to select at the end of your draft if you would like to wait on a quarterback.

Zero wide receiver:

So as the name suggests Dallas Cowboys wide receivers will be off the table with this strategy.  Now this means you hopefully have a high enough pick to land Ezekiel Elliott in the first round of the draft. He currently has a top three ADP so you’re going to have to get pretty lucky if you want to acquire the Dallas Cowboys top running back.

Typically with strategy grabbing two running backs to start your draft is key. So if you have a high pick you’re typically going to be looking at players like Devonta Freeman or Christian McCaffrey towards the end of the second round (if your draft snakes).

Then if a player like Joe Mixon or another supposed RB1 is available take the plunge and wait to draft guys like Chris Hogan or Brandin Cooks/Robert Woods in the fourth/fifth round. There are a lot of wide receivers in this draft and typically Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Allen Hurns and Michael Gallup are both available towards the end of the draft, so if you have some faith you should be able to grab one of the top targeted guys in the Dallas offense. Zero wide receiver comes with some risk but a ton of reward if done properly.

Zero running back:

Well, this is the reverse of the above strategy and pretty much implies that you fill your roster with the best pass catchers period. The Dallas Cowboys receivers will have a great value as most will be available towards the end of the draft. However to start your draft, select the best receivers on the board whether that be Odell Beckham, Antonio Brown, or Julio Jones.

This strategy typically revolves around taking two receivers back to back and unless a key receiver falls focusing on running back in the fifth or sixth round. It does not mean not taking a running back at all however it means taking the most pass-friendly backs around. Guys like Duke Johnson or Tarik Cohen would make a lot of sense to roster with this strategy.

The Dallas Cowboys backup running backs are not really roster worthy unless you are looking for a handcuff and that would likely be Rod Smith. Smith is a great pass catcher and can get things done through the air but is not as shifty or sound as players like Alvin Kamara or Cohen.

This strategy is also predominantly used for PPR leagues so keep that in mind.
