Dallas Cowboys 53-man roster projection 3.0: Would you rather…

Special Teams (3)
Dan Bailey/ Chris Jones/L.P. Ladouceur
There are no surprises here. L.P. is flawless and Chris Jones might be one of the most unrated men on this roster. It would be shocking if anything changed here at any point this season.
Dan Bailey isn’t necessarily a concern, but he has cracked the door for questions…
Last season he suffered from injuries causing him to miss games and miss kicks. He finished with a paltry 75 percent success rate (25th in the NFL). The season before he was a respectable 84 percent (13th in the NFL) which isn’t bad but it’s not all that good either.
All-time, Bailey is the second most accurate kicker in the NFL, but at a position notorious for sudden declines, we need to admit he he hasn’t been good as of late. Looking at the past two seasons, Dan Bailey is a shade over 80 percent, meaning he’s been roughly the 21st ranked kicker in the NFL.
His history buys him time and gives him the benefit of the doubt, but he hasn’t been even an above average kicker since 2016 and the Cowboys are paying him to be a Pro Bowler.
Will Dan Bailey recapture his mojo and revert back to the kicker he used to be or will injuries reduce him to the wrong side of average? If I had to bet on one, I’d bet he’s he the good Bailey, not the below-average Bailey but I’m no longer casually using the bathroom during those routine 40-yard field goals anymore, either.
