Byron Jones/Chidobe Awuzie/Anthony Brown/Jourdan Lewis/ Duke Thomas

I was really high on Marquez White before the season began but after a thoroughly disappointing camp, I’m ready to push him off my roster and give him one last try next season. Duke Thomas gets the nod because he’s had back-to-back strong training camps and also serves as kick returner.

When asked about who the return man will be in regular season games, the Cowboys special teams coach said Deonte Thompson is No.1 and Duke Thomas is No. 2.

WR Thompson, once a lock to make the team, is fighting back from injury and now resides directly on the roster bubble. If he doesn’t make the cut, Duke is virtual lock because of special teams’ needs. But I have a feeling both players are going to do enough to make the final 53, based on their play at their primary positions.

At the top of the CB depth chart is Chidobe Awuzie and Byron Jones. The Dallas Cowboys are committed to keeping them at CB so they are locks to remain as CB1 and CB2. Anthony Brown is still holding off Jourdan Lewis as the CB3 but for how long may come down to the last two preseason games.

Lewis is supremely talented and should have no problem supplanting Brown. But both players have struggled against the big play making this more of a competition of who screws up less, rather than who plays better.
