Should the Dallas Cowboys trade for Antonio Brown?
By Carl Daley
The Dallas Cowboys have been looking for a quality number one receiver for some time. If Antonio Brown becomes available will they pursue him?
The Dallas Cowboys have been searching for productive wide receivers this season. Brice Butler was brought back after leaving in free agency. He was cut by the Arizona Cardinals and was eventually brought back to Dallas however it is unlikely that he alone will solve the Cowboys receiving problems.
Antonio Brown recently expressed that he could be productive on another team and that his stats are due to his ability, not scheme fit. If the Pittsburgh Steelers were to make Brown available the Cowboys would be foolish not to jump on the opportunity to put a star on the side of his helmet.

The Steelers are riddled with turmoil at the moment as Le’Veon Bell continues to hold out and recently Antonio Brown expressed his displeasure with the offensive play calling. Now the two sides seem to be at an impasse and even though Brown returned to practice today the relationship still feels a bit frosty.
So what would it take for the Dallas Cowboys to land Brown, who is potentially the best wide receiver of all time? It would at least take a first round pick and most likely a top player who can produce with Pittsburgh.
Some would say that David Irving could fit that role. The Dallas Cowboys have had to deal with his four-game suspension and since he is a free agent at the end of the season he could be dealt sooner rather than later. It appears unlikely that the Cowboys would extend him and offer him a bigger contract so he may be trade fodder for the foreseeable future.
Another player who was also rumored to be dealt is Jourdan Lewis and considering the issues the Steelers have in the secondary, Lewis could be a big acquisition for that football team. On the flip side the Dallas Cowboys need a true number one wide receiver and even though Brown is getting up there in age he still appears to be the best wide receiver in the NFL.
He would do so much for the Cowboys offense it is almost hard to wrap your head around it. Brown would be welcomed with open arms and I am certain the Cowboys acquiring him would drive his jersey sales through the roof.
Dallas also has several wide receivers hitting free agency during the offseason including Cole Beasley, Tavon Austin, Deonte Thompson, and the recently acquired Brice Butler so finding a guy who can take on a lot of targets is a must.
One thing is certain if Brown is actually available, the Dallas Cowboys have to be interested in what he can bring to the table.
