Ontario native Ty Dellandrea was the Stars’ first-round pick (13th overall) in this past summer’s NHL draft. Last season for the Flint Firebirds, Dellandrea finished second on the team in points, first in goals, and third in penalty minutes. He also finished with a 50.6 faceoff win percentage, winning 750 of 1481 attempted faceoffs.

This season, Dellandrea ranks second on his team in points with 22, just one point behind fellow teammate Jake Durham (who has 23). Dellandrea has only played 22 games, compared to Durham’s 26.

Dellandrea has a 58.1 win percentage from the faceoff circle and has attempted the most faceoffs on his team with 504, with teammate Kyle Harris coming in a far-away second with 306.

Flint has stumbled heavily out of the gate, winning only three games this season to record a 3-22-1 record. They sit at dead last in the OHL (and the Western Conference) and are 14 points away from the Erie Otters, who are second to last in the OHL’s Western Conference with 21 points on the season.
