Round 4 – Parris Campbell – Wide Receiver – Ohio State

While a lot of people will say with Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup on the outside, Cole Beasley and Noah Brown in the slots, the Cowboys might be set at wide receiver. I say, hold up a second. Allen Hurns has been fairly disappointing, Terrance Williams is, well Terrance Williams, and Cole Beasley could decide to go elsewhere after this year. That doesn’t leave a lot of depth or playmakers. Enter Parris Campbell from Ohio State.

Parris Campbell has made some explosive and clutch plays for the Buckeyes this season. He displays a 4.35 40 speed when he gets into the open field and makes defenses check themselves or he will get behind them. Where Campbell will need work is running sharp routes, being physical at the point of catch, and consistency catching the nose of the ball. The one thing he can instantly add is speed, elusiveness, and quickness.

Campbell wouldn’t come in and be your number one or two receiver, but could be in as your third or fourth, and is a huge home-run threat. If the Cowboys didn’t grab Cooper in trade, then wide receiver would have been much higher. Campbell adds a weapon both on offense and special teams.
