Which Dallas Cowboys Team Will We See in the Playoffs?

After a thrilling win against the Giants to close the season, one has to wonder, which Dallas Cowboys team will show up in the playoffs. Good Dallas, Bad Dallas, or somewhere in between.
The Dallas Cowboys have made the playoffs and will now host a playoff game against the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday. After what can be called an up and down season, ending with a thrilling win against the Giants, the question will be – which Cowboys team will show up?
Over the course of the season, there has been good, bad, and even somewhere in between. Looking at the bad Cowboys, we only have to look back to the Colts game. It was a microcosm of the worst this team has been this season. The offense was bland, predictable, and unable to move for large chunks. There were missed field goals, a tired defense, and poor coaching throughout the bad games as well. There are some signs of worry if the bad Cowboys show up.
Dallas was terrible in the second and third quarters. If the Cowboys get behind early and have troubles in the red zone, they will have to try to score points in quarters they haven’t been great in. They will need to score something early on and at the very least keep the game in striking distance.
Speaking of red zone troubles, it looked like the Cowboys may have fixed some of them against the Giants, however it was just one game against a bad team. While the Cowboys have done well in close games, at some point it could bite them. And the playoffs would not be the time they would want that to happen. They have to score in the red zone early and often.
The good Dallas Cowboys kept Dak on the move, Zeke in the game, and opened up the deep passes to Cooper and Gallup. Beasley running through the middle and now that Tavon Austin is back and Blake Jarwin has put together a few good games, there is some hope if Dak can stay on the move.
When the Cowboys are at their best when the running game is rolling, Dak is not playing consistently from the pocket, the defense can pressure quarterbacks, and Jason Garrett isn’t forced into game changing decisions.

What will probably happen is more like something in the middle. The Cowboys will keep the game close with defense and a running game. The passing game will have moments and the game will come down the fourth quarter. Garrett and Linehan’s style of playcalling keeps games close, neither are really risk takers, as seen by the fact all but one of the Cowboys wins were decided by one score or less.

I won’t make a prediction of the final score of the game, but I think that if the Cowboys lose, Scott Linehan will be the first to be shown the door. If the Cowboys win, the question will be if they can keep this style of play up all the way to the Super Bowl. If the good Cowboys show up they should be fine. If the bad Cowboys show up it will be a short post-season. Either way, the Cowboys are in the playoffs.
