Parris Campbell – Wide Receiver – Ohio State

I am going to go with the rumor of only one compensatory pick right now, and while guard and edge rusher are certainly on the table, I think with the revamp of the receiver corps, the potential losses, there will need to be someone injected. Enter Parris Campbell.

Campbell is not the best route runner right now, but he has the speed and agility to punish a defense in a hurry. He does his best work on short and deep routes, but is not the guy right now for that 10-15 yard gains. He will either catch, run, and take it to the house, or use his speed to beat his man deep down field. Part of this is a limited route tree, but he is teachable.

Where Campbell could come in and work right away is two-fold, one in the slot, and two is in the return game. Finding ways to get him the ball in space would only benefit whoever drafts him and in the fourth he would be a solid pickup.

There are a few other names to watch later in the draft like Carl Granderson the defensive end out of Wyoming. He would be a little bit of a project, but has potential. Other names to watch as the draft gets closer are Khalil Hodge, LB, out of Buffalo, and Max Scharping, OT, out of Northern Illinois. I also wouldn’t be surprised if the Dallas Cowboys bring in either Matt Gay, K, Utah or Austin Seibert, K, Oklahoma in either. I prefer Gay as he has made kicks beyond 50 yards, Seibert only attempted one all season, and missed.

So there it is Dallas Cowboys’ fans. A draft to end the season and start the preseason. Let me know below what you think. We can all assume the names on this list will change as players go through all of the pre-draft build-up, but this is a good primer and a good start. Free agency will certainly affect the draft, and I think I tried to convey that in this draft.
