The Dallas Cowboys must decide which free agents to keep and which to let go, here’s a list of all their free agents and what may become of them

With the Dallas Cowboys season now officially over, the front office begins the onerous task of assessing the roster. With five starters set to become unrestricted free agents, the task this year will be especially challenging.

Clearly the Dallas Cowboys want to keep as many contributing players as possible, but the finances of the NFL make that nearly an impossible task. As such, fans can expect a few well-regarded players to depart this March, and Dallas to once again churn the roster.

 DeMarcus Lawrence

Defensive End

At age 26, DeMarcus Lawrence (Tank) is in his NFL prime. After collecting the second most sacks in the entire NFL in 2017, Tank agreed to play under the franchise tag in 2018. Betting on himself he set out to repeat his breakout performance in 2017.

Despite only getting 10.5 sacks this past season, Tank was every bit as impressive as he was a season ago. In addition to the sacks, Tank tallied 15 tackles for loss (more than last season), and 23 quarterback hits (26 in 2017). Considering the extra attention he pulled from opposing offenses, coupled with his stellar play against the run, a solid case can be made DeMarcus Larwrence actually had a better season this year than last.

Don’t let the sack totals fool you. Tank was brilliant this season and proved to be a top-5 edge rusher and arguably the best edge run-stopper/screen defender in the NFL. This man is going to get paid and Jerry Jones will have no problem writing that massive check

Chances of re-signing: 95%
