It’s the offseason which means it’s time for the Dallas Cowboys to embark on their annual purging of the roster. Which players are on the chopping block?

One way or another, the NFL offseason is about building. It’s about adding and subtracting from the roster and coaching staff in order to improve the overall success of the franchise. For a team like the Dallas Cowboys, there appears to be a little bit of all of this in their present and near-future.

Already we’ve seen the coaching staff begin to churn. Gone is offensive coordinator Scott Linehan. In comes former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Jon Kitna. Which roles and responsibilities settle where, remains to be seen, but the shake-up is done-so with improvement being the primary objective.

Such is the goal when building a roster. Adding proven players via free agency is just one step in the Dallas Cowboys’ plans to improve in 2019. We also have the NFL Draft to add players, and even the trade market as a tool to improve the roster.

But something often overlooked is the nessassary step of releasing players from the team. While prematurely cutting players comes at a cost (guaranteed money becomes dead money), it’s an inevitability in today’s climate.

Sometimes players underperform and sometimes they become progress stoppers to younger, more promising players. No matter how you slice it, some players just become too costly to keep around. Today we dive into the Dallas Cowboys’ 4 most likely to be cut players in 2019.
