The Dallas Stars defeated the Arizona Coyotes on Monday night to increase their win streak to five games.

The Dallas Stars are on a roll; they’ve won their last five games.

First, before the NHL All-Star break, they defeated the Winnipeg Jets 4-2 to head into their bye week on a good note. Brett Ritchie, Blake Comeau, and Radek Faksa were able to score against the Jets in the opening two periods to give Dallas a commanding 3-0 lead. After the Stars allowed two goals within the span of 21 seconds at the beginning of the third period, Tyler Seguin added an insurance goal late in the game to seal the deal.

Fast forward to Jan. 30, where the Stars played their first game in 11 days when they hosted Jeff Skinner and the Buffalo Sabres. Between Jamie Benn‘s five-hole goal and Ben Bishop stopping all 30 shots for his third shutout of the season, the Stars were able to skate by the Sabres.

The Stars opened their February schedule last Friday night when the Minnesota Wild came to town. Andrew Cogliano netted his first goal in a Dallas uniform and Minnesota forward Brad Hunt scored for their respective teams to make the game 1-1 after the second period was over. Then, Seguin scored two goals—one at 12:18 into the third and another an empty-netter with less than a minute to go—to give the Stars a two-goal lead and move into third place in the Central Division.

Immediately after beating the Wild, the team flew to Tennessee to play against the Nashville Predators the following night. Anton Khudobin got the start in goal and stopped 38 of 39 shots to help Dallas get its second win against the Preds this season. Seguin scored in the first period, and Blake Comeau and Mattias Janmark scored less than a minute apart late in the third to push Dallas’ win streak to four.

On Monday, the Stars returned home and hosted the Arizona Coyotes, who had come into the game having gone 2-2 while in the middle of a six-game road trip. Roope Hintz scored his third of the season, Klingberg scored his seventh, Faksa scored his ninth, and Janmark scored in back-to-back games to keep up with the Yotes’ offense.

With a hair over seven and a half minutes to go in the game, Tyler Seguin scored his team-leading 22nd goal to break the tie and give Dallas its 28th victory this season.
