Get all the latest news on trade talks, injury updates, roster changes, and more on the Dallas Stars as they trudge through the rest of the season.

This week I will begin something called the “Stars Bulletin,” where I’ll do a review of the previous week, a preview of the upcoming week, and a little of everything going on with the team in terms of injuries, trades, roster moves, and everything in between.

Last Week in Review

The Dallas Stars split three games last week and finished 1-1-1. They first defeated the Arizona Coyotes at home in a crazy 5-4 victory. Roope Hintz scored his third of the season, Klingberg scored his seventh to tie Esa Lindell for second-most goals on the team among defensemen, and Tyler Seguin recorded a goal and an assist in what became his 14th multi-point game of the year.

Dallas’ win over the Yotes last Monday was also the team’s final game of the five-contest win streak.

“We’ve found a way to win games in all different forms during the streak,” said Stars center Jason Spezza told Stars’ Inside Edge Mark Stepneski after the win. “It was an up-and-down-the-lineup-contribution game and one we can feel good about.”

Spezza recorded an assist on Hintz’s tip-in goal. The 35-year-old has 22 points this season.

The Stars scored three goals in 71 seconds in the third period—from Klingberg, Faksa, and Janmark—to give Dallas a two-goal buffer. Arizona forwards Vinnie Hinostroza and Alex Galchenyuk scored just over a minute apart a few minutes after the Stars’ three-goal burst to tie the game, but Seguin rifled a shot past netminder Darcy Kuemper off a feed from Jamie Benn to score the game-winning goal.

Final. 4. 121. 5. 119

After Dallas defeated the Coyotes at home to win their fifth straight, they flew to Nashville to face the Predators for the second time in six days.

The Preds had acquired some physical firepower by trading for Cody McLeod and Brian Boyle from the Rangers and Devils, respectively.

Predators forward Craig Smith scored his 16th of the season to open the scoring with less than three minutes to go in the first period.

The Stars couldn’t get the ball rolling until the third period. Rookie-phenom Miro Heiskanen scored the equalizer with a blistering slap shot 4:05 into the third.

Defenseman Taylor Fedun—who was acquired by the Stars from Buffalo early in the season—has made a solid impression in his first season in Dallas, and scored his third of the year shortly after Viktor Arvidsson scored to give Nashville a 2-1 lead to re-tie the game, pushing the contest into overtime.

However, Nashville’s Ryan Johansen was able to get a shot past Anton Khudobin to edge the Stars 3-2.

Final. 2. 119. 3. 151

After the win streak’s demise, Dallas traveled to the Desert for the first and only time this season to play in Gila River Arena against the Arizona Coyotes—who they previously had beaten earlier in the week—for a Saturday afternoon matchup.

The game didn’ start well for the Stars. Former Dallas Stars’ defenseman Alex Goligoski scored seven seconds into a Coyotes’ power play thanks to a tripping call on Blake Comeau to make the game 1-0. Alex Galchenyuk would score his 10th and 11th goals of the season in the second and third periods to give Arizona a three-goal lead.

Brett Ritchie was able to get his name on the scoresheet for the first time since Jan. 19 thanks to a loose puck in front of Darcy Keumper after a drive to the net by Roope Hintz. Less than a minute later, Alexander Radulov broke an 11-game goalless streak by tipping in a shot near the point by John Klingberg to reduce the Coyotes’ lead to one. However, the late rally was unable to find a third score, and the Stars were given their first regulation loss since Jan. 17.
